Are You Still There?

I am broken hearted

Now that you’re departed.

I want you to heal this loneliness.

But you are in the ether now.

Bits of you envelop me in little stardust.

How can I move, how can I remain still?

The pain is with me now, and it is the reminder of how we loved.

I loved you enough to push past the ugliness.

I made my own messes, and learned.

Your heart is on the floor, and I cannot seem to pick it up.

Any move to hold you slips away.

In shadow I bloom, in light I wither.

Poppies

You speak of fun, of happy days lying and playing in the sun.

I cannot hold you in my arms,

but my eyes, my soul

grasps you and lets you live inside me forever.
